It’s not too late to build something different.
If you’ve been feeling stuck—or like there has to be more to life than this—you’re in the right place.
I’m Valerie. I’m 62, and I live way out in rural South Carolina, on 18 acres, in a camper my husband and I are slowly turning into a real house. I’ve done the hard things. Built a business. Raised a family. Treaded water more times than I’d like to admit—working hard, staying afloat, and somewhere in the back of my mind knowing that treading water isn’t the same thing as swimming.
So I decided I was done pretending it was.
What I’m Actually Building
A few years back, I looked at the next 10 or 15 years of my life and thought: is this it? Because if it was, I needed a different picture. I wanted income that didn’t depend on being needed every hour of every day (my husband and I have run a business together for years, so I know exactly what that feels like)—something that could grow quietly in the background, on my own time, without asking anybody’s permission first.
So I started small. Making short videos. Learning affiliate marketing. Figuring out how to earn money from things I already knew how to do—without hiring anybody, without a storefront, without waiting for retirement to see if any of it would work.
I’m not a guru, and I’m not selling you a course. What I’ve got is real, ongoing proof that a woman past 50 can build something new from a camper in the middle of nowhere, one unglamorous step at a time.
What You’ll Find Here
The real version of reinvention. Not the highlight reel—the actual mess of it. What’s working, what’s flopped, what I got wrong before I got it right. I’ll walk you through exactly how I’m building income and a new chapter, in plain language, without the jargon or the “just believe in yourself” nonsense.
Who This Is For
You, if you’ve got that restless feeling like you’re capable of more. If retirement sounds either terrifying or boring, maybe both. If you’re tired of vague inspiration and just want to see what building something actually looks like, week to week, mess and all.
No perfection here. Just progress—and a little Southern side-eye along the way.
Stay close. We’re figuring this out together.
